Halfway Through Term One!

Last week, in Week Five, the students of Room 18 completed the last of their formal testing. They continued to work to solve maths problems that required them to use knowledge of measurement and they began to think about our next Inquiry with the theme of New Beginnings. This theme has been exciting and engaging for our class as students have had the opportunity to share about their culture, their religion, and their family identity. We wrote to recount our favourite family celebration or event and students have learnt a lot about each other and the way they live their lives. The Inquiry focus on New Beginnings will continue throughout the term as we begin to look at how we have all come to be a part of this beautiful country: Aotearoa/New Zealand.

On Friday, students discussed the progress they have made through the Home Study worksheet. It is obvious that many students are putting considerable effort and thought into these tasks. Thank you to those parents who assisted students with their additional homework task of finding out and reporting on their cultural identity.
