Te Reo at GIS and a NAME CHANGE!

Kia ora koutou,

Room 18 had to change their name this week.  We are now called Room 7 and that is because we made a classroom shift to the other side of the school. Our old class, Room 18, is scheduled for a makeover this year and we have made the shift now to allow the builders access when they are ready.

Te Reo Class

Students at Greenmeadows are fortunate to have weekly lessons in Te Reo to build and extend their ability to korero Maori and to increase their understanding of tikanga. They do this in co-operative activities and interactive lessons that encourage them to practise their new learning.

Here are some photos of room 7 working together to reinforce their understanding of whanaungatanga and pahekotanga (if these words are unfamiliar to you, have a chat with your child to see what they can tell you about the meanings).

One more thing...
Starting Week 6, homework will be posted on the blog for easy reference and so that parents can see what is expected of their child during the week.
Don't forget to check back!
